RasFlow Studio

HEC-RAS 2D Automation Suite.

From scratch to client-ready deliverables.

RasFlow Studio guides the full HEC-RAS 2D study in one desktop suite: preprocess, build, check, simulate, map, and report. Automate the sequence or step through it with checkpoints, then scale from a single plan to multi-plan production queues.

Why it exists

HEC-RAS stays the engine. The suite removes the grind.

2D flood studies still depend on HEC-RAS for the hydraulic answer. What slows teams down is everything around it: aligning CRS and layers, repeating mesh and plan setup, watching runs, and rebuilding maps and reports for every scenario. RasFlow Studio wraps that path into one guided automation loop so modelers spend time on decisions, not handoffs.

Full automation

Automated or manual mode through preprocessing, model build, QA gates, simulation, and reporting, with checkpoints and logs you can pause and resume.

Built to scale

Start with one study plan, then grow into multi-plan queues. Resource advice and parallel workers match compute to your machine and study size.

Delivery ready

Flood surfaces, hazard classes, maps, and HTML reports package as repeatable client outputs inside the same workflow that produced the model.

The journey

Seven phases. One continuous study path.

Every project follows the same automated loop. Phases unlock in order with readiness gates, so terrain, mesh, plans, results, and maps stay aligned from the first folder to the final package.

  1. 01

    Project Setup

Create the workspace, confirm HEC-RAS and runtime tools, and clear Gate 1 before data work begins.

  2. 02

    Data Preprocessing

Build domain, terrain, land cover, infiltration, rainfall, and boundary inputs into a consistent model-ready stack.

  3. 03-05

    Model, QA, Simulate

Create or link the HEC-RAS 2D project, run inspection gates, fix issues, then execute plans singly or in parallel.

  4. 06-07

    Post-process & Report

Derive surfaces and hazard products, produce maps, and publish HTML reports into a deliverable package.

Inside the suite

A workspace built around the study, not around files.

Phases, cards, and a live log keep the modeler oriented while automation runs. Two moments that matter most: preparing trusted inputs, then pushing verified plans through production compute.

Data Preprocessing

Data preprocessing phase with domain, CRS, and preview panels
Phase 2 turns GIS and hydrology inputs into a coherent HEC-RAS-ready stack before the model is built.

Re-Run Simulation

Re-Run Simulation phase with production plan queue and parallel workers
Phase 5 queues plans for parallel runs and sizes workers to the machine so larger studies finish sooner.

Premium optimization

When studies grow, compute should grow with them.

Premium parallel optimization sizes workers and cores for your hardware, then runs eligible plans side by side. Larger scenario queues finish sooner, idle machine time drops, and the cost of waiting on sequential runs stays down as production volume increases.
